  • CONTRAFLAM®

    • Provides integrity and insulation.
    • A toughened safety glass.
    • Extensive test certification.
    • Can be single or double glazed & laminated.
    • Turns opaque in event of fire.

    Product Overview

CONTRAFLAM is range of fully insulating, clear, fire-resistant safety glass that offers from 30-120 minutes of integrity and insulation protection (EI30-EI120). The products consist of two or more sheets of toughened safety glass. The cavity between the sheets of glass is filled with a transparent intumescent gel interlayer which reacts when exposed to fire. The number of sheets of toughened safety glass and interlayers is determined by the level of required fire resistance. This product satisfies the highest demands of fire protection.

    Applications

CONTRAFLAM can be used in a variety of applications in both internal and external areas, for installation into steel, aluminium or timber frames, partitions, doors and floors.

Proper installation of fire-resistant glazing is critical to the fire-resistance of the products. The glazing should always be installed in exact conformance to the test certification document.

    Benefits

    • 30 - 120 minutes integrity & insulation (EI30-EI120) EN 1363
    • Toughened safety glass: Class A safety glazing material BS 6206 / EN 12600 1(B)1
    • UV Stable, so the same product is suitable for exterior and interior applications.
    • Large pane sizes possible (extensive test data is available).
    • Very bespoke: in IGU form, CONTRAFLAM can be combined with products that offer a wide variety of performance characteristics.

    Range and Performance

The product comes in a variety of configurations to satisfy different levels of fire-ratings, from EI30 to EI120. When exposed to fire the special intumescent interlayers turn opaque and expand to form a fully insulating heat shield. This effectively reduces the transmission of radiated and conducted heat for up to 120 minutes. The opaque insulating interlayer blocks the view of the fire which minimises panic and acts as a guide for emergency services to indicate the presence of fire.

CONTRAFLAM can also be used single glazed, laminated and double glazed. In IGU form, CONTRAFLAM can be combined with products that offer properties e.g. safety & security, enhanced thermal insulation, acoustics, solar control, decoration.

  • CRACKED ICE

    • A decorative glass product.
    • A beautiful ‘Cracked ice’ appearance.
    • Every piece is unique.
    • A range of colours available.

    Product Overview

CRACKED ICE is a laminated composition consisting of 3 layers of glass. In the middle, surrounded by float or toughened (SECURIT) glass, there is a shattered layer of toughened glass. The PVB film and the two outer layers of glass contain the shattered piece safely inside.

    Applications

CRACKED ICE is a decorative product for use in indoor applications, such as table tops, shelving and feature glazing. It can be used in exterior applications where the laminated edge of the glass is suitably protected from the elements.

    Benefits

    • A highly decorative product that adds visual impact, and even colour, to schemes.
    • Thanks to the smooth outer surfaces of glass, CRACKED ICE is simple to keep clean.
    • Since toughened glass never shatters in the same way, every piece is unique.

    Range and Performance

Standard SGG PLANILUX glass can be used as the substrate material, but usually SGG DIAMANT® extra-clear glass is recommended. Coloured glass such as SGG PARSOL® can be used, as can a wide variety of coloured PVB interlayers from the STADIP COLOR® range.

A range of shapes can be also produced using CNC technology. In addition, we can also UV bond glass to glass to create all glass tables, or we can bond fittings to glass to enable the attachment of non-glass table legs, for example.

  • SGG DIAMANT®

    • Extra clear glass with a low iron content
    • Delivers exceptional clarity that benefits multiple applications

    Product Overview

SGG DIAMANT is a unique extra clear glass which is valued for its attractive appearance and optical qualities. The low iron content produces a higher light transmittance and a reduced green tint inherent of ordinary glass. SGG DIAMANT therefore offers a solution for multiple applications and markets where an extra degree of clarity and transparency is required.

    Applications

SGG DIAMANT is suited for numerous applications that require high transparency, clear aesthetics and optical brilliance:

    • Furniture: it is particularly stunning in table tops, shelves, office desks, shop counters requiring thick glass with colourless edges.
    • Interior design or decorating: it is an excellent base glass for back-painting (see VITRIO).
    • Shop windows and display cabinets: it can be used to produce a laminated safety glass with very little colour difference - even in extreme thicknesses.

    Benefits

    • The edges of the glass remain colourless, unlike other glass making it ideal for use in furniture.
    • Optimum transparency: due to its perfect clarity, SGG DIAMANT allows the true colour of display items to be seen and excellent vision quality when viewing through the glass.

    Range and Performance

Available in a range of thicknesses from 4 – 19mm.
