  • TECDUR®

    • Enhanced security glazing
    • For manual attack, ballistic and blast threats

    Product Overview

TECDUR enhanced security glazing is a range of composite security products which combine the mechanical strength of polycarbonate with the abrasion resistance of glass. The glass and polycarbonate layers are bonded using a proprietary resin laminating system. The resin laminating system achieves a strong, durable, bond between glass, resin and polycarbonate which is capable of resisting the large differential in coefficient of thermal expansion between these materials. This strong bond significantly increases the durability of the product and allows polycarbonate to be clad on one side only if required.

    Applications

The TECDUR range provides solutions for manual attack, ballistic and blast threats and so can be used in a variety of application from shop fronts to airports.

    Benefits

    • Prevention of egress - a composite vision panel with high resistance to manual attack (blunt blow) e.g. in prisons, detention centres.
    • Prevention of ingress - provides superb resistance to penetration from repeated sharp blows e.g. axe attack, particularly when compared with traditional security glasses / films.
    • Prevention of spall - provision of an internal polycarbonate face to either manual attack or bullet resistance TECDUR provides a zero spall surface i.e. no glass ejected from the rear face on breakage.
    • Damage limitation - bonding hard coat polycarbonate to the external face of a sealed double glazed unit provides an energy absorbing surface which reduces the risk of breakage upon impact from manual attack and/or thrown projectiles.
    • Fail secure structural glass applications - incorporation of holes in TECDUR composite panels facilitates the securing of the panel via glass fittings to either structure, or another panel. Utilising the appropriate thickness of polycarbonate core, fail secure structural glass solutions can be developed which maintain structural integrity even when the internal and external cladding glasses are broken.

    Range and Performance

Independent accreditation has been achieved at various levels of manual attack resistance (BRE LPS1175 / LPS1270 levels SR 2,3,4,5&6) and at all levels of EN1063 in regard to bullet resistance.

A range of solutions are on offer to meet the various security ratings.

  • SGG VISION-LITE®

    • Low-reflective glass
    • Improved vision through glass
    • Laminated safety glass

    Product Overview

SGG VISION-LITE anti-reflective coated glass significantly reduces the reflection of light on the surface of the glass.

    Applications

SGG VISION-LITE is ideal for all applications that require maximum transparency and unimpaired vision through the glass.

    • Internal: display cabinets in museums and protective screens for paintings; display units and shop fronts; internal partitions (hospitals, clean rooms, control rooms, etc.); television studios (less reflection in front of the cameras); zoos and aquariums.
    • External: shop fronts and show rooms; glazed areas in panoramic restaurants; control towers, control rooms and observation rooms; screens to separate spectators in terraced stadiums.

    Benefits

    • Optimum vision: very high transparency levels and very low residual reflectance (approximately 8 times less reflection than conventional glass) for improved visibility.
    • Clarity of objects: better contrast and colour rendering.
    • UV reduction: SGG VISION-LITE blocks out over 99% of the sun’s UV rays, reducing the discolouration of items exposed to direct sunlight.
    • Large sizes: available in large dimensions for shop fronts or showroom windows.
    • Safety: SGG VISION-LITE is available as SGG STADIP PROTECT laminated safety glass for enhanced security.

    Range and Performance

    • SGG VISION-LITE is available in SGG STADIP PROTECT laminated glazing, produced from SGG DIAMANT extra-clear glass. The low-reflective coating is on both faces of the laminated pane of glass.
    • Various thicknesses are possible from laminating together the base glass which comes in 4mm, 6mm, 8mm 10mm. e.g. 8.8mm, 12.8mm, 16.8mm and 20.8mm.

Important: the residual reflectance of SGG VISION-LITE anti-reflective glass is very low (approximately 1% for laminated monolithic glass). It is however still visible under certain lighting conditions, viewing angles and in certain surrounding environments. The residual reflectance depends on the angle from which it is viewed. Perpendicular to the glass, it is slightly bluish and can vary slightly. For external applications (eg: shop fronts), it is strongly recommended that a sample is viewed in the intended location.

  • STADIP COLOR®

    • A vast range of colours
    • Can be transparent, translucent or opaque
    • For exterior and interior use
    • Laminated safety glass

    Product Overview

SGG STADIP COLOR is a laminated glass product which is available in a vast range of colours, due to the use of coloured interlayers. Using various combinations of the basic colour films, virtually any colour (opaque, translucent or transparent) can be created.

    Applications

SGG STADIP COLOR injects individuality into schemes where both striking aesthetics and safety are critical. Interiors: partitions and screens: doors; stair treads; floor panels; balustrades; furniture. Exteriors: facades; roofs and overhead glazing, canopies, guarding, feature glazing.
